Generator to run scorpion
« on: January 24, 2014, 08:39:35 am »
Would anyone know what size generator I would need in my van to run my van mounted scorpion? Also would want to use it to run 3000 watt gutter vac aswell from time to time but obviously not at the same time

Lot cheaper to run an extension lead from property and use their leccy.
Or even better take it to door for far shorter hose runs.
Impossible done straight away, miracles can take a little longer.

I have looked into this in the past and it would cost you an arm and a leg to get the size of generator you would need, then their is the running cost which would not be as economical as running a truckmount.

4kv should do it. I picked a used Clarkes one up with Honda engine for 150 quid off Gumtree.

4kv should do it. I picked a used Clarkes one up with Honda engine for 150 quid off Gumtree.

3600 watts for only the engines  and then pump motor and we have over 4kv. generator should be at least 20-30% stronger then power you need.
Looking for no less then 5kv, totaly minimum.
New around 700-1000euro and around 70-100kg extra on the van.

You do not want the cheapest one on the market.
