My crash?

Some of you will know about my crash today, which wasnt my fault.

Ive just recently got that van. £6500 plus interest as its on finance.


Does anyone know what the crack would be if they wrote it off with regards to the finance?

you could actually be out of pocket  >:( >:( a unless you took out the insurance scheme on the loan

Have you got 'gap insurance'?
The value you get paid out will be the value of the van without the finance.
Although you may be able to recover that from the other party.
Also, the finance won't be that much.
It's not the 5 year settlement fee (if that's the length you took out) you'll have to pay £6,500 on finance paid back 6 months later-not gonna be much fella.

Not sure if I have any insurance to be honest, ill have to find out.

Its over 3 years by the way.

Its over 3 years by the way.

£6,500 over 3 years @6% adds £150 a year. £12 a month roughly.
6 months in... I reckon you'll be paying £100 or less.

Yeah its finance thru the garage where I got the van from. Black horse is the finance company.

I'd imagine you'll get some money well within a month. Probably 2 weeks(ish)
That's the experience my mates have had.

Was it you who had the wooden floor with steps under the tank?
If so, how did the false floor fair?

Yeah thats right mate. I cant open the back doors so not 100% sure, it looks like it wasnt damaged.

I had to take the bulk head out, to take the system out via the front cab. If anything, id imagine the second floor helped a little in the back end not crumpling any more than what it did.

I'd be interested to see how it got on bud.
Also, you may be able to claim for your time spent kitting it out.
Run everything past your insurer.

If you have gap or vehicle replacement cover you should be ok. However even if you got it from a proper dealership if you don't have one of those insurances you might have a problem as if the insurance value you van for less than you purchased it for you are liable for the difference on the loan.

Put in a whiplash injury claim.
That should cover any shortfall.  :D
