Dumping custies - do you tell em
« on: January 23, 2014, 10:05:29 am »
Everyone has dumped custies for some reason or other (money or cancelling even being rude), I used to text them to let em know they needed a new w.c now I just drop them...

My mate Steve reckons I should let them know out of courtesy, I'm of the opinion that they couldn't give a toss about me so why should I bother?

Q : Do you tell them or just bin and forget???

Dont dump them, tell them what they are doing to deserve being dumped.  Two advantages.  One, they may not be aware that their locked gate is a problem and that you cant climb over it like the last bloke did (or whatever) and two, you stand no chance of being branded with "he just stopped coming" to the neighbours.

That's the thing I don't dump custies lightly!! Always have a good reason (normally when it costs me money) but in the end once I've decided they've got to go....

I text all custies the day before and most with locked gates I've convinced to get combi locks so luckily not really a problem for me.

Depends on the reason.
I've dumped one this week-3rd time I got the tact back 'can you leave it until...'
I won't be going back.
If she gets another WC and says 'my last one just stopped coming' it's a warning sign to the new guy...

Only building my round at the minute so taking on a lot of these "my last windy stopped coming for no reason" and with these there's a very good chance that they will be on my to dump list within a short space of time, nobody stops coming without good reason.
I usually just stop coming with out explanation, it doesnt seemprofessional but its so as to not sound rude in my case.

Depends why I've dumped em if its cos they're PIA messers non payers then no but if I've dropped due to their location then yup tell em.

Dropped 1 yesterday slow payer never open gate not this time won't be going back even though we clean 6 of their neighbours

I dont tell them they usually know why. bad payers, ones who are in but dont answer the door, others i have to go back to half a dozen times to get paid. not worth the hassle & saves you a lot of time chasing them for payment.

I usually only have two reasons for dropping customers. They either give me the runaround for payment above and beyond what is reasonable, or continually say 'not today'. I have never had to explain myself to them as the reason they have lost me is patently obvious.

Seasonal cleans??? is that the I only want them doing in the summer brigade - I had a couple do that to me when I first started - told em to google 'hibernating wc' and give the result a bell lol

I don't dump customers unless they don't pay me. If there is an issue they need to resolve I tell them to resolve it or I can't carry on.

i think it can depend on the client
I have had two old dears who kept saying leave it this time"im going on holiday in a few weeks" that kind of excuse so stopped going and then they approached me asking why i didnt clean anymore, explained that "george" has a built in profit limit and because they cancelled so many times in a 12 / 6 month period the computer takes them off the list and any clients on the waiting list take there slot..............put them back on...............they have never cancelled since ;D

I've heard of "George" before never considered getting it!

Could you post a link for me please Bob.

Thanks in advance
