Venturi Suction Head

Came across this you tube clip and think this would have been useful for a couple of jobs I have done in the last year. Mostly driveways on a downward slope to a garage with a drain channel not connected to a drain!

Seen this one available but there looking for £74 including delivery!

I do not have a wet Hoover so think it may be a handy tool to keep in the van?

Anyone got one, use one, any thoughts really?

Can see it being a slight pain having to connect it up for a minute or so to clear a drain channel then clean again for a wee while then back to connecting it up again to suck the waste out! Certainly better than scooping the water/waste out into a bucket repeatedly! It will also suck up small stones/sand/sludges, just run waste into a flower bed or drum for disposal at suitable site!!!

I've got a couple but they are better for sucking out larger volumes like flooded cellars and the like. You would be better off with a puddle pump for drive jobs.

Thanks very much and did wonder how it would work with smaller volumes.

Do you have any links to a tried and tested paddle pump? If so it would be appreciated. Did a quick you tube search but could not see anything.

They're good for 5m lengths of hose attached but anything more than 10m for example they struggle to create the vacuum, depending on flow rate.
We put a nozzle in ours for 30LPM and ran a 10m hose and sucked water from the canal into our tanks to use for cleaning the paving along side the canal.
