Extracta new machines
« on: January 18, 2014, 10:15:35 am »
Just been up to extracta in gateshead to pick my machine up after service, while there John showed me there new range of machines using much more powerful vacs that are also quieter and smoother sounding than previous, the exel produces twice the power of the old model for example

Anyone on here using the new machines? I'm seriously tempted given the extra performance at what seems like half the noise

Single vac and 100psi maximum pump....few hundred pounds more you could have the Enforcer or the Jag. Twin vacs and 600psi pump.
Impossible done straight away, miracles can take a little longer.

You sure they are all single vac ?  they would hardly claim twice the power if was just one 8.4 motor .

The exel is a twin VAC machine, the machine will only be used for carpets, rugs, upholstery so I don't see the need for 600psi even with 100psi more often that not I run at about 50 to 70psi but I'm relatively new to this trade so I'm open to suggestions regarding pros & cons of different machines but Extracta is relatively close & I've always been happy with service

Hi John your gallery shows you have a Scorpion which has a 500 psi pump have you replaced it with a 100 psi pump or are you using a different machine now?

I'm sure the Extracta machines are great but their website looks like it was based on a 1973 brochure. They don't have the new models on there, they really need to let the world know if they have updated.

Hi Robin,a fellow carpet cleaner based in Scotland kindly sent be a couple of pictures & alowed me to use them when I first started out most of the others apart from the drives are mine but many sites out there use library images anyway so I don't see the harm as long you can produce the results

Is there any new features on the newer machine  ...

Does it have a 2" hose connector .

Are the new motors in parallel .

Is the noise reduction down to the newer 8.4 motors or have they fitted a silencer chamber .

Do you have a 100psi pump , if so is that enough for u , as in , now that the machine can run twice the hose length ( if its 2" hose )  would you need a stronger pump to compensate for any pressure loss at full length .

Any pictures would be appreciated sometime .

 The motors are in parallel

 They are 8" I believe

It can take 1.50 or 2" hoses

It as a built in silencer that also takes the heat away

I figured u wouldn't want the electric one   :)

But hey , there are a couple of muscle car driving macho men on TMF leaving their Prochem everest at home most days in favour of the Mytee Escape  ... so perhaps some day .

When you say new "range" of machines, do you mean theres more than just a modified Exel ?.
BTW how did the Exel look compared to the original one ?.

Hi Glynn, All machines will have the super vacs although on the  BX will be offered with different VAC options

Looks wise they don't look much different although the Exel that John showed me had been strengthened to cope

This is the only narrow glimpse there is of the turbo  taken from another thread  ...

   http://oi39.tinypic.com/vgr0ar.jpg

They still have weird see through 1.5" hose port  ...   but they must have installed a 2" perhaps on the  other side .

The vent on the bottom front is new i think and wheels look to be black
Im sure it still has loads of stainless steel and a switch panel full of dials and gauges .

Probably the most significant think is two 8.4 motors on the one cord  ...   that has not been done before  ....   that is more power on one cord than the 6.6 storm has on two cords .

And thats done to keep the 3kw immersion on cord two ... which is more usefull in cleaning situations imo than a huge pump .

They might not be able to fit a large pump and still keep the two vacs on one cord ..
even if it comes with 100psi pump  ,   the user could easily swap in something like the 220psi aquatec diaphragm pump  that mytee uses on many models   ....  if u need pressure regulation a crude external regulator could be added  ... or even a tap on brass T with an external return hose , giving u 200psi or 100psi with tap on .
