I've just had delivered a Gardiners back pack, it doesnt work very well at all as a back pack, getting it on your back when full is not easy at all, put one strap over your shoulder and the other strap disconnects its self.

Does any body else find them not suitable as a back pack? There ok to carry by the handle built into the lid but not as a back pack, or am i doing something wrong??

Never once ever used a backpack on me back, too much like hard work that mate,just carry the thing

I've always carried backpacks by the handle. I have never tried one on my back I would imagine it would be a nightmare wearing one all day.

If your going to be cleaning all day with this backpack,buy a light weight sack truck and bungee the pack pack to it

i used to have one on my back all day, but it was a extend2wash one, got a gardiners now & no way would i put it on my back for even 1 house nor would i carry by the horrible lid. its on a sack truck  now

So its not fit for the purpose then really, looks like Im going to have to carry it then.

I have a renault trafic with a 700 litre ionics system in but the cambelt chain has slipped and belt my valves, so i have a hire van at the moment. Wanted a purefreedom trolley but they didnt have any in stock, so the back pack was the only option really.

Most backpacks are made for crop spraying

why would want to carry it on your back..pick put down as needed
or on a sack truck means far less stress on your body

The last I heard Gardiner pole systems didnt make crop spraying equipment

Ok here is the defence for the Gardner backpack.

I love it.. for the money its a great bit of kit..
Its NOT designed to be worn all day.. In fact it says in the Ad not suitable to be worn all day..

I use it for one purpose only.. carrying water through houses with no rear access..

As for difficult to put on? sit it on an unturned bucket in your van, Sit on the van floor just in front of it. hook straps over shoulders and attach.. Stand up.. EASY.

Straps coming loose.. Cant see how they clip in and stay in. need some effort to unclip.. also the weight  of water on the straps will keep them pulled tight and inlace.
Oh and as for weight on your back.. It will get lighter as you empty it..

for £109 delivered I think its great value, and a selling point when I tell punters Im not prepared to drag a hose  thats been dragged through god knows what through their house to the rear garden..

I always use mine on my back, my surflow backpack. Makes the job so easy to do, cant understand what all the big deal is about??.

Put it on a trolley with 30 metres of hose no need to move it far.
No way would I put it on my back with 20 litres of water in it.

it was craig from polarbrite who said they wouldn't sell crop sprayers.

sod off franky..i carry enough weight as it is.

i pick up carry put down far easier,ill be buggered if im going to waste
time chucking it on and off my back
