grippa gutter poles
« on: January 17, 2014, 02:31:48 pm »
just been looking at grippa tank site for vac poles .

They now have two types on there site one is 475 grams per 2 metre pole and the other is 340 grams per section .

It says the heavier one is stronger and has clamps as well as being tapered.

The price before vat is 77 quid for the heavier one and 105 for the lighter one .

my alloy poles are too heavy over connys etc so want some lighter ones .

Just want opinions on which to go for.

are the clamps much of an advantage ?

i use their lighter ones without clamps.  never had any problems with them at all.  they are great in fact.  i have cleaned a church with them so that was up to 5 sections at something like a 60 degree angle at times.

every now and then i will use gaffer tape to hold the u bend in place.  but this is like 1 in 10 jobs and is simple enough.

not having clamps make it a lot quicker to take them up and down

hope this helps

:)

I use the lighter poles from Grippamax (gardiners super-lite for gutter vac), no probs, very easy to use as Richard says sometimes the u bend spins but no drama. Definitely recommend.

Cheers , the difference in price isn't huge so i suppose it makes sense to go for the best ones.

do you use the alloy u bend or the new lightweight plastic one ?

I used these guys:

www.carbonfibretubes.co.uk

£411.84 for x6 2 meter sections including VAT and delivery!

They are brilliant poles. 100% carbon fibre.

Plastic mate. We have both the large (commercial) and smaller one for everyday domestic. Oliver will advise if you give him a call, very helpful.

I went for the lighter more expensive ones .

When they arrived I though they forgot to put them in box - so light !

Makes a huge difference , well worth the money in my opinion .
