Haven't tried Dynamall but hear its expensive, but excellent results with stain protection.  Surround at 1-30 with good smell
and acceptable results.  I hear SPM with a dash of shampoo for lubrication just as good and economical.

Amtech do an Encap with what looks like good dilution rates....

Environ Hp

Light = 1:128
Medium = 1:64 – 1:42
Heavy = 1:32

But £42 inc the vat for 3.8lts

I guess it's all about the dilution rates without these you can't work out the true cost

This cost 4.5 lts RTU for a £1 at medium soil levels (50-1)

We use Dynamall all the time for encap.  It is expensive but the smell and end finish is worth it.  We used 4x4L (job took three people 5 hours to do) and made £2,600! One vac, then pre spray, then the other two encap.  Would have cost £18k to replace all the carpets.   Director loved the finish product.  Booked me in to do it again in the spring. http://www.restormate.co.uk/epages/15094.sf/en_GB/?ObjectID=16517721&ViewAction=ViewProduct

Jamie did this a few months ago hope he does not mind  using it again great ref point for encap

Dynamall and Hydrox will need a longer dwell than Surround as they are on the acid side of the pH scale.

Looking at the main encap products I have used the difference between them is in their make up.

Dynamall contains detergent, deodoriser, copolymer protector, oxi booster (5%) and the encapsulation polymer

Surround contains detergent, encap polymer and perfume depending on version

Prochem Procaps - as Surround, Woolsafe approved.

Chemspec Rotobrite 2 - Detergent, encap polymer, hydrogen peroxide (5-10%)

HOS Environ - High Surfactancy for zero dwell and greasy soil, hydrogen peroxide (?%) encap polymer. CRI approved.

Releasit Hydrox contains Encap polymer, Hydrogen Peroxide (10%) & Detergent. It is also further on the acid side of the pH scale (3.5) making the additional booster more stable in the bottle and effective on problem acid side soils, its Crystalon HP polymer is different from the regular Crystalon 3 in the rest of the range to make it more compatible with the oxidiser for improved cleaning.

If protector is required it can be applied afterwards.

Why one worked better than the other will be down to the above factors/features of the product and obviously the carpet & soil type.
Obviously there is only so much "space" in concentration for each ingredient so choosing what you actually need for the job will determine what to use.

Dynamall gives you a bit of everything thrown into the mix making it a great all rounder.

The Releasit range lets you tailor what you actually require to get the maximum performance.

Basic - Straight cleaning and encapsulation (no perfume or protector) 1:16 or 1:32 dilution
DS1 & 2 - Double Strength with Flurochemical Protector, Tea Tree Extract 1:32 dilution
Bio - As DS1 & 2 but no protectoe and EDFA approved
Punch - Surfactant loaded for greasier areas and zero dwell time, Protector, Tea Tree Extract variable dilutions as a pre-spray (before DS2 or Basic), Extraction Rinse, Spotter, Bonnet Cleaner (doesn't foam like the others so better for spray application), Upholstery Cleaner (synthetics) CRI approved.
HydrOx - Cleaning & Encapsulation (acid side) with peroxide booster. The favourite for wool carpet, organic soils & spills and upholstery cleaning.

Surround, Procaps, Releasit Basic, Punch & DS2 could all be boosted with Sodium Percarbonate (Chemspec Energizer, Prochem Oxibrite, Craftex Energybryte) if desired. Not something I have found the need for with the Releasit range.

I use Environ..

standard dilution rate for me is 1:64, and I use two measures if it is a minger...

Seems to be very economical...

I also use fusion clean occasionally now, as it is running out, and although not technically an encap product.. it does do the job.
Everyday this forum slips further from God.  :'(

"Surround contains detergent, encap polymer and perfume depending on version"

It also has acid dye blockers and odor neutralizers plus a fragrance that will linger after it dries and T2H hybrid polymers.

    • Powerful Proprietary Encapsulating Detergent Polymers that will emulsify organic phase or oily soils and suspend most particulate soils for easy removal. These detergent polymers will encapsulate the suspended soils and detergents leaving behind a polymer residue. This polymer residue will prevent rapid re-soiling and enhance the efficiency of routine vacuuming, allowing for continued removal of any residual soils after the cleaning process. This reduces the frequency of wet cleaning needed to maintain or preserve the appearance of the carpet face fiber.

    • Proprietary Stain Resist Agents have been incorporated that provide superior protection from typical acid dyes commonly found in foodstuffs and many other materials.

    • Proprietary Anti-Soiling Agents that enhance the formation of encapsulating films that provide extended soil resistance after the cleaned area has dried.

    • Surface Tension Modifiers help enhance the efficiency of the cleaning agents leading to increased productivity, spot and soil resistance, and better soil release in subsequent cleanings. These surface tension modifiers are particularly effective in allowing for better removal of the oily or greasy soils found in many commercial environments

    • Free of hazardous air pollutants that can affect indoor air quality.

I use surround ultra, always have great results with it and leaves a great fresh smell. Economical too, 4oz normally per 4 litres.

Glad you guys like Surround. I understand that Dynamall is Hydrogen peroxide based. I now have Revive iT Confidence the also uses Hydrogen peroxide and can be used as a pre spray for extraction or for bonnet cleaning.

I believe you can use it as a pre spray then HW extraction in areas that you what to. That way its a good all rounder, pad some areas and HWE other areas.

The only issue we have had, is people coughing when being sprayed down.. The smell is extreme, however when I put in a few scoops of spm it calms the smell down, eliminating coughing.

Apart from that, the smell lasts hours and whether cleaned by bonnet or extraction, both does an extremely great job.

Tried Formula 90 (powder) on Monday and this afternoon.  I thought spm was good!  Sprayed agitate, then rinsed with nice warm water (added some nice craftex natural tones).  Custys love it. Smell lasts for hours too.

Moved from SPM over to Formula 90 now :-)

Which one has a safer/better MSDS ? If you use any product day in and day out safety should be part of the decision.
