Graham, i will film a house we have coming up very soon and i will show you why. It's to do with the make of glass.

We have 2 houses that do this.

That's weird.....

If you can see marks it must still be dirt left on the glass to show up the dirt?

What kind of brush do you use?

I've got one conservatory that always comes up with bristle marks. The double glazing fitters have used some sort of strange sealant that sticks to the brush and leaves marks all over. Everything I've tried, hot, cold, vitrosol. Always the same. Ended up just not touching the edges, or doing it traditional.

are you rinsing on or off?

if on there is your problem if off the only time i see brush marks is when rinising is not done correctly#

Apparently  :P :P .  May say it all some custys just dont take to wfp , But as mentioned above about rinse technique if you happen to be rinsing on the glass and your brush is not clean you may well get brush marks .

Also if the glass is Hydrophobic as in if the water beads on the glass rather than sheeting when rinsing , You may not be rinsing enough better to rinse a little slower that is what i do . Mike

I cleaned a customers windows today inside and out. All the windows facing the sun were the ones that took the brunt of the storms and I have to say they have come up really poor. In direct sunlight from inside they are a mass of brush lines running through a layer of dirt. I swopped brushes too and they are hopeless. As the sun goes down they aren't looking too bad and it's hard to spot from the outside. Maybe it's days of brick minerals streaming down the glass but whatever it is it's going to take some shifting. All windows that face northwards look perfect.

I did office window's in the dark yesterday morning, with all the storm's, they were minging so I gave them full pelt with the water. By the time I got back to the start it was daylight and what a right mess they were. It's the first time I've ever seen anything like this before, considering all the water I used. I just had to do them again no iffs or butts about it.
I recon the storms are causing it all. It has one wondering what the hell some of the residential have been left like.

I use hot water and lots of it but lightweight brushes. Getting worried now. :-\

Same here that tiny black grit has meant i have took almost twice as long on some houses .

I have treated most windows like a first clean to ensure i have got them spotless , I rinsed with a higher flow rate but also rinsed slower otherwise windows dry badly .

Same on houses i have on main roads a lot more crap on windows at various times of the year and i use the same method other wise they dry with dirty marks .

It aint got nowt to do with lightweight brushes , I normally scrub glass up & down but after doing edges of glass i have been brushing left to right then running brush over edge of frame to get dirt of brush .

Then rinse as mentioned above and not had any probs at all . Mike

Hi
I got a call back today and i hardly ever get them.
This house was on a corner plot and took a beating from the storms really filthy, cleaned as normal but lady rang and said they arnt very good.
Went around and it wasnt to bad but looked like dirty run marks in a few places here and there.
I just did them again no questions asked.
Checked next door while i was there and theres was ok.
This storm has made a mess,i also think it might be the bricks, and the crud getting behind the rubbers.
Regards
