Looking for a second pressure washer set up, for domestic and commercial work, but mainly commercial as our domestic set up is fine.

We have an L200 which we use for this work, but the bed is reasonably small, so no room for bowsers, wondered if it's worth buying a bowser to tow, or a bowser with machine attached?

Current machine is 15LPM, which works fine, don't think I want to jump into a monster machine just yet.

Would like hot, but not essential. After using hot on a recent job, it was a pleasure to use, and seemed to work quicker than our cold.

Budget wise, open to ideas, don't want to waste money on something that's not up to commercial work, but don't want to overkill it.

So I guess, something middle of the road!

The machines attached to Browsers are "generally " only small industrial units bolted down...so nothing to gain in performance. Hire/buy a bowser.
There are industrial pumps available    250bar @ 21lpm which is plenty... if you need to put more water on the floor buy 2!
think they are around £560 all in with a gearbox.

Only down side is they require 14hp..   "13hp" Honda gx390 are less than 12hp !!!  so you would need diesel (which makes economic sense but i think you would be into twin cylinders so you lose mobility) ) or briggs/kohler petrol  .

So you could in theory build a 250 bar 21 lpm mobile unit brand new for £1200 ...£1000 if you can get the vat back !(petrol or even less with loncin)!

Keep the machines mobile they are more versatile this way ...you could build a frame on the van to "lock" them down so you have "van mounted" system also

We finally finished that job, didn't try what we discussed, too much messing about as it was, with staff sickness, weather, obstructions etc etc, so was concentrating on progress rather than experiments. Got another few similar jobs this month, so might try it then.

Think buying a bowser to lug along is looking simpler.

To be honest personally I would get rid of the L200 first. Been there! Real small load area compared to decent van, load height a nightmare so the washer will need to be van mount, then you will have to suck water for supply, others will disagree but always best to gravity feed pumps in long term.
We had a new L200 Warrior, the only way we could secure dropleaf was via truckman top, maybe they have changed that if not asking for trouble.

Best to ring guy as he is old school, this wk would be fine.

I wouldnt mount the PW on the L200, currently 2 guys lift on and off, so a frame mounted system with wheels is ok, we have it set up as an open bed.

I know what you're saying, but we need a 4wd for our jetski, launching on beaches and slippy causeways.

We considered a crew cab, but not viable.

May look at a dedicated van for this side of the business.

Couldn't agree more and this is something I'm looking at sorting out ASAP. Just don't know where to go to get a decent site built. I built this one but have never liked it but that's all I have at the moment! So is a decent site all that is required? I'm very good at what I do but useless at all the technical site building and SEO stuff!

Our s(h)ite was last updated about three years ago, and we get plenty of commercial,.   That said for new business I think you're spot on as we only ever get domestic enquiries and most through recomendation or local magazive ad's.

I've learnt how to build through Microsofts platform and also Wordpress. It can take up a lot of your time but that time spent is a big save compared to having a pro build one. Or is it if you chance using that time over a job? I spent quite a few hours last night making and changing the banners on a few pages. Things I've learnt to do that others would charge me daft money for.
Everyone needs to understand people don't pull out the yellow pages anymore to find a contractor. If you've got an appealing website and your keywords are doing the job pulling your site up for people to click then they're gonna be glued to your site. If it's not giving them that instant peace of mind and ease of navigation they're just gonna click the back button or x in the corner and keep searching. Everyone knows I brag a bit(just a bit ;-) ), but I've put the time in on the sites to gain the work and we do get the work.

Ian mate, when landing on your site, I see an image of a van. It doesn't intantly tell me what you do. People are ignorant to this, not always can they be ar$ed to read bits of text, they want things to jump out at them. You need images showing what service you want to give them. That will grip their interest.

Why not try a Karcher HDS1000. Smallish machine, in a frame. hot water. Decent machines from what ive heard. I think Trevor on here uses one in a trailer. I know one of the big companies, i think it might be trafalgar, uses them standard in their gum trailers.

From memory they run off a yanmar engine. single cyl diesel.
