Not attended yet but apparently quite a large spill of honey spilt onto a 80/20 mix carpet. Anyone had similar ? Any suggestions for best chemical use?

Rinse it out with hot water is my first thought, although a heavy spill might take a lot of work so you could cause some pile damage with excessive heat & rinsing.

Chemical wise, it's just organic/carbohydrates so an enzymes based prespray might help break it down and hold it in suspension

As Mike says, it is easily water soluble, however you may suffer wickback so I would price for maybe having to return to finish off.

Honey is readily soluble in hot water so it should be fairly straightforward, just clean as normal with a detergent to aid  wetting.

Roger, think i saw you a few weeks ago whilst quoting for an office out at Broom nr. Alcester, about 2,500 square feet, ring any bells?  Don't know how many carpet cleaners he asked to quote but he called me back a few days ago trying to knock me down in price and beat the other quotes, i declined and said i didn't compete on price, hate customers like that.

Anyway best of luck with the honey, would be interesting to know how you get on with this.

Yes, brilliant stuff, great for those suspect wickback stains like blood, or heavy spills

did a job a few years back for a care home where one of the residents thought he was a bee ( I kid you not) his carpets and mattress were covered in honey as he liked to pour it over himself before going to sleep (whilst buzzing) rinsed out with warm water then with warm water and mild detergent, staff were very happy, buzby (as he was commonly known) was really upset !
