I currently have my Di vessel in the van and the water passes through it out of the tank on the way to the pole, I am thinking of putting the Di in the garage with my static system to save carrying it in the van, so water passes through out of my Ro on its way to my tank.  Is there any reason I am better off having it in the van rather than in the garage, I cant think of any?

i dont carry mine in the van, its just extra weight which you dont need to carry

i leave mine at home and purify my water before i go to work(eg the night before)

I put my water from RO into tanks at home with a TDS of between 3 and 15. I then transfer that into tank in van where it then goes through the pump and then  resin which brings it down to zero or 1.

I've never thought of having resin at home because I assume it helps to finally 'clean' the water at the last stage before hose reel.

But if it works for others I may give it a go as it's one less thing on the van with connections etc.

I was going to try that configuration out soon, but was hoping to store RO water in a holding tank and pass it through the DI resin when transferring it to the van. I just wonder if I were to pass it through the DI pressure vessel after the RO but before the storage tank, it would increase waste water as there would be a good amount of pressure holding the pure water back. in effect it would be like putting a restrictor on the pure water side of the RO and therefore increasing the amount of waste. In theory anyway, I wonder if anyone here has tried it.

To ensure that it stays at 000 - Unless you check your home TDS everytime ?

The di vessel we have is directly after the r/o so the water is 000 when it goes into our IBC tank.

Our water currently supplies 3 of us and it would mean buying and filling 3 di vesssels, 1 for each van.  By doing it this way we have found that we don't need an additional vessel in each van. This has worked for us for the last 7 years.

im far from an expert being a newbie in wfp but from everything i read you should ro first then di second to polish it off, i think if your doing it the other way wont it cost more in resin?
regarding di vessel in van or garage, ive thought about leaving the di at home but when i get my system set up i'll only have a 3-350 litre tank and if i run out of water while i was out and filled up from a customers house etc and i'd left the di at home i'd be screwed so im just gonna keep2 di vessels in my van!

Some people run double DI for example if they have low pressure like i do we use double di as my OLD RO would only get it down to about 18 so it makes sense to use double di and reduce the cost. The way i had it setup was like some guys on here one in the van and one in the garage.

How i have a smaller RO 4021 as advised from June at Gaps for my low pressure of around 20-24 psi and using the HF5 membrane it gets it down to 6 currently in this weather so i am more than happy, Probably don't need a Double DI system anymore but its all setup it wont do any harm. And like said.. it does make sure everything is pure at the brush head.

I make my water into an ibc and final stage is the di vessel ... QC when ibc is full then transfer to tank in van sometimes it may take me 2 to 3 days to drain IBC so will do a QC check when tank is filled in van however it never changes.

I use r/o into filling tank then after that the filling pump pushes water through resin into the vans we never carry di vessels in vans

There's a split pipe after the filling pump as some do carry a vessel so there van tanks are filled with just r/o water whatever it comes out at

Worked like this for years find pumps in van are less under pressure with having to push through di vessel ad well
