Had the varistream about 4 years been fine but just packed in. Just not turning the pump on. The green light comes on and just flashes. By passed controller and pump works. Any ideas

If it is a Varistream then the green light flashing is a flat battery according to the Varistream instructions. The green light constantly on is the pump running.

So if possible swop the connections onto a good battery - ie van battery and see if this solves the problem.  It could also be a poor/bad connection somewhere from the battery to the Varistream. Suspect a bad connection at the fuse holder, cable joins or at the battery. It could also be a problem on the black neutral back to the battery.

The battery may still have had enough current in it to run the pump, but the Varistream has a low voltage cut-out at 10.4v (or somewhere there abouts on older units) to prevent 'killing' the battery.

If you have a split charge relay connected, will running the engine solve the problem? If so then it's most likely to be the battery being flat.

Hi spruce you was right it was the fuse holder all corroded. Took it up brother laws who knows a bit, well a lot more than me. Tested the battery and was showing 12.4 which he said was ok. So he changed the fuse holder and all is fine. Still think the battery is a bit iffy though cause doesn't seem to hold the charge too long. Many thanks for your input.

Glad you got it sorted.

If that's a leisure battery then 12.5 volts is only around 50% charged.

Thanks again spruce looks like it could be a duff battery as well. only had it a couple of weeks so will be getting in touch with them today. It was only 67 pounds so maybe should get a better quality one and pay a bit extra. Someone on here recommended Halfords ill take a look at theres. Again thanks for the info. Brian
