one of your posts says you use 50m aquadaptor red pole hose as your main hose. Do you use it with Hot? Dois it coil up and give you any problems?

Any polyurethane hose will curl up as it has a memory  of how you roll it up.If it was kept strait after it is hot it will stay strait. But when manufactured is was coiled it will always want to go back in the coil diameter. If you pump hot/pure through and coil that will become the new memory diameter depending on the heat of the water. So if its hot and you form righter corners it will stay like that until hotter water passes through again.

Hi Jim, yes you're right that's what I use. I only use cold water, not hot.

I like it because:
It's extremely light and easy to use.
I still get good water pressure at the brush.
It's durable (never had a leak or split in 18 months) and I can stand 50 feet away and easily pull more off the reel (fixed in the van).
I can lift the whole reel out on frosty evenings and it's so light.
I can shut the van doors on the hose (and lock them) without affecting the flow rate.
I can put my warning cones actually on the hose to hold it down (on the pavement).
Because it's light and easy to pull round houses, it's quick to use and that's what I like.

It's not so good because:
It does not lay flat (and yes it does coil) but that in itself is not a problem.
Occasionally it can tangle, probably not much more than microbore (but it's easy and light to untangle, i've got the hang of what to do)
It loves car tyres (but so does microbore).
There is a limit to the water pressure you can get. I like a fast flow but not massive. With all my gardiners brushes it creates a nice curtain of water with not too much additional rinsing to do. However, I have just bought a wide extreme brush and fitted 4 fan jets to it (I had to) and although the pressure has dropped, I think there's enough water to rinse effectively.

If you're not sure, just get 30m of Aquadapter red and add it to your existing hose. Cheap enough and you may just like it.

Cheers

Pete

Jim, I just noticed on another post that you've got the 25 foot Extreme. Is it really that good as I'm thinking of getting one?

Pete it is the Dongs Danglies. It came with 30 foot of the new gardeners all season hose. I was happy enough with that but put my A/dapter with its Red pole hose on it today and I can feel the extra weight on the pole but its is still very much a dream to drive.. Using al the sections locked out at half length lets me do 1st floor and single storey gutters with a 3 Lb pole that is as rigid as a lamppost.. Fan flipping tasctic.. even out at full stretch on a second story window its still fairly stiff..
As soon as I get the cash spare Im ordering the next two sections to give me a 35 foot capacity.. There is no going back . Its extreme all the way for me..
The reason I was asking about the red is I was thinking about going over to it on my reel. I have 70m of thermobore on there at the mo and I know its about holding the heat but Im going to need a hernia op constantly lifting it out and in the van..
Having read your reasoning I think Ill give it a try..  :D
