When a dog is older and settled YES .

But a pup NO , We are on our third rescue dog and our current dog is a Labrador Retriever 12-18 months old we only found out he had seperation anxiety when we left him on his own for 10 mins and he took 2" out the front door it has took 3 weeks to train this out of him and get him settled

If you take a young dog to work and he never gets used to being alone it becomes a major headache and really stressful , Our dog needs a recording of our voice playing on the ipod while we are out and massive roast bone . Mike
