Any Detectives on Here? Mick Kent's been ripped off.
« on: December 09, 2013, 09:18:17 pm »
Mick Kent recently paid for a 2nd hand back pack from a member called "sglods".  Backpack hasn't turned up, sglods hasn't replied to e-mails, and this evening deleted his account.

I've got his IP number; I think the police can trace this to his home; so Mick's welcome to it if he wishes to contact the police, but does anyone know him?

This is his e-mail address:

purewindowcleaner@hotmail.co.uk

And this is the post where Mick purchased the backpack (he paid by bank transfer):

http://www.cleanitup.co.uk/smf/index.php?topic=179462.msg1521818#msg1521818

Maybe Mick could supply the name of the person (I assume it would be the same as the account name he paid the funds in).

Anyone help him out with some advice?

I'm pretty sure that the IP number can only be found by the company that he uses the broadband with.

I read somewhere, from a guy who used to work for Talktalk (or some company like that), that they'd often get lists of IP numbers from the police and they'd have to manually get the accounts/addresses of the IP number.

I think it's the lack of replies from Mick's e-mails - after they've already exchanged e-mails with regards the payment and bank details - and the deleted account that's raising the red flags.

I paid him straight away after many emails and soon as i transfered the funds over i never heard a peep back from him after mailing him saying iv sent payment to him, i posted on the backpack thread asking him today and he deletes his account!.
If he is genuine then why would he avoid getting back to me and then also why delete his account that was only created a few months ago??.

May take a couple of days, boils down to payment method and getting reimbursed.

All for £60 though??
His profile said he was in london so i mailed saying id pick up as am london aswell where he replied that he was in dorsit and must have put london by mistake, and then that transfering the funds to his account would be better so i did then all of a sudden he went silent and deleted his account after seeing me message him on there today.
P allen was the name he told me to pay funds to.

Mick - if it doesn't turn up, drop me an email to see if we can help with contact details.

Nice to know Alex gardiner will share customers personal details if it suits him. Regardless of whose right and whose wrong, I think you'll find that's illegal under the data protection act mr gardiner.

Even internet providers won't give up users personal info without a court order, and quite rightly too. There are always two sides to every story.

If I bought something from you but then had a dispute with someone on this forum who was one of your buddies, would you feel free to give them my personal details too?

Shocking!
