Hi all, i know this sounds unprofessional but would you take on work and outsource it to other people and take a cut?

It's called subcontracting and it's a common practise.  Make sure you're either covered for your subbies (insurance wise), or that they're covered themselves.

Keep your subbies happy by paying them promptly and discussing exactly what is required of them.

Do you do anything like this yourself, or have you in the past?

I subcontract bits of work to others. Mainly commercial jobs in areas that I don't wish to travel to. I also sub garden maintenance work to a local company for some jobs where I have the contract for window cleaning and ground maintenence.
