L5
« on: December 09, 2013, 01:14:08 pm »
I have a L5 heater at my back doors but what is happening is the heat is hitting the roof of the van and making it rust! as my van is only 1 year old this is not good  :'(

Now the problem is the heater doesn't have a vent going over the top like this one....

Does anyone have a spare kicking around I could have, or know were I can get one (happy to pay)

help needed

how much space is there from the top of the heater to your van roof?

there should be at least a 2 ft clearance.mine is a bit more than that.no problems.
price higher/work harder!

I've got the same thing poleman.
Been meaning to get round to it for ages.
If you can't get the proper shield, you could always get a bit of sheet aluminium and fashion one.
I think I've got some in the garage.
If I've got enough to send you a bit I will.

I have one on my van easy to make I would of thought, just slots in the gap.
Why not get some silicone and some silver foil and stick the foil above the heater on the van roof, I did this as a backing  to the heater just in case the ply its screwed to got hot and burnt. Still there ,about 4 years now.
