« on: December 08, 2013, 03:03:34 pm »
What's the quickest effective and most efficient way to clean internal windows ?

Am asking as I can't help thinking when doing insides it takes a bit longer trad  as you have to be I bit more cleaner etc...

Hopefully those who maybe do inside care homes , offices etc.. Can share some advice .. At the min I do it trad .. using a spray bottle ... Going room to room ...Just keep thinking there must be a quicker way ... It's a ball ache at times tbh !

Thanks
Paul

Recently I have started cleaning internal windows with microfibres and pure only if they aren't too bad. For me it is quicker and tidier than a squeegee. Mind you, these are all average sized panes of glass.

We do quite a lot of regular insides on some very large houses, Georgian, modern and everything inbetween, we just trad them. if you feel you need to rush or be quicker maybe the price needs changing??
I agree its a ball ache compared to just WFPing the outs but i dont see any other method which leaves them as clean as a squeegee.

What we sometimes do if we're working as a 2 is one starts the ins and the other WFPs the outs seems quicker then, then helps on the insides when they have finished the outs.
And to decide who does what we let the flick of a coin decide, LOL!!
Oooooo that is shiny!!

When I do inside houses I use a well wrung out applicator and a spray bottle with water and a bit of soap in
Just lightly mist the glass and use applicator and blade them off. I find this way you get very little mess to mop up
Thanks,

Tbh I get a lad in when they come up ... I do the outs WFP ... He does the ins .. Non negotiable!  ;D

Price wise .. It's one if those on going debates but it's part of a bigger contract where do you want to lose the job for the sake of few internal cleans per year which tbh if you cost against the time it takes .. It's stomachable..

Scotty .. That exactly what I was on about re the spray bottle

Ah well just plough on the same was hoping someone would have a magic solution  ;D

Thanks for the replies lads

I think if it is a regular "inside job", cloths and pure is fine. I only have 4 or 5 of those mind you. If they are dirty, a slight "mist" isn't enough imo. I have now taken the view that if a mist is sufficient, then a squirt with pure then a wipe with a microfibre will do.

I charge 1.5 times for insides. Even that isn't enough tbh.

Going to give the pure and micro combo a try .... Cheers

We promote an excellent concept for cleaning interior glass surfaces, use one damp little waffle glass cloth and spray a small amount of Beyond-Kleen onto the damp cloth, proceed to clean the glass surface then use a second little waffle glass cloth dry to polish off for a perfect streak free finish, Beyond-Kleen contains no IPA,Alcohol,Ammonia,or solvents, which will always guarantee a streak free finish. this is also an excellent concept for anyone who details glass display cabinets for retailers.

I hate doing insides.
And find it difficult to state 'best way'
Sometimes a cut down squeegee sometimes wet microfibre/dry microfibre.
I'm not very quick inside.
I always charge twice the outside price for domestic. Non negotiable.
It's expensive but i don't want to do it.
If the customer really wants them done they'll pay for me not wanting to do them.
If that makes sense...

I don't particularly like cleaning inside windows, but I do it if a customer asks... I use an applicator and squeegee on "normal" windows / small Georgian type windows, and some spray and a scrim on leaded windows.

When I started window cleaning I learn't traditional methods to, so I'm fairly quick cleaning insides.

I used to squeegee the insides but after reading that Stu M doesn't use a squeegee except for large windows I thought I would give it a go. I find it much quicker.
