Cleaning inside and outside conny roofs
« on: December 08, 2013, 07:50:56 am »
Seems to be a good market for this and looking to get into this for next year but think Im taking too long on the inside part of the job.

How long does it take you chaps to clean the inside of a polycarbonate roof with 6 large panels and 6 smaller panels ... assuming non smoker and just general dust with no fly poo etc ... i did one yesterday morning using mop squeegee and crappy step ladders (new ones getting sorted) took me 90 minutes but prob spend 20 mins faffing about with sofas etc etc.

can it be done in under 30 minutes if no furniture shifting ?

When I done it it was in the summer, so was sweating one right out in there  ;D
Furniture everywhere
Had to get old sheets to cover up stuff

So yeah I guess if you can arrange so that things are moved etc then you can price accordingly, but I just dont bother what so ever to save the hassle and get on with other houses.

I do quite a few in spring and Summer Ian. 90 mins is about what I allow too, maybe a bit less if the customer has shifted/covered furniture which I always request. Good jobs to start the day with I find, before the sun heats the roof up!

Forgot to add, I once cleaned the insides of a conny that had been used as a smoking room (I was inexperienced  :o ) Never ever again, my scrims, squeegie etc was sticky for weeks afterwards.

I wouldn't clean a smoked in conny these days for £500.

it was like the dance of the spiders! as we pranced around   scared sh/tless summat was gonna smash

we take them on but only if they're in a viable state for a quick clean, we use the unger flat mop head and a pile of microfibre pads, if they've been smoked in we either walk or put in a rediculous price and that takes the stress out of it

I bought a small floor mop Dunelm Mill shop for £2.95 I can fit a micro fiber  over the mop its has a pole of 3 foot so perfect for conni roves. The trick is not to wet the roof to much they clean with mot.I cab do a conni in 20 min max.AS I don`t even mover furniture as I can reach over most of it.
