Street Bidder
« on: December 07, 2013, 12:59:21 pm »
Not blowing my own trumpet BUT, (look back on my old leafletting posts) this is close to what I have been doing in my own area with fantastic results.
I dont have a picture of individuals houses BUT I do personalise my leaflets.
I leafletted an area that I already have work in for an hour and a half the start of last week, excellent response so far.
Think outside the box and results can be fantastic.
Now where has my trumpet gone again? ;)

Im not convinced that Street Bidder will be all that good myself.
There is a flaw in the concept which is plain for me to see and im sure to most other experienced window cleaners.
But it is offering a new advertising angle to service providers I suppose, complete with all the yanky doodle fanfare, bells and whistles (all be it with at least one major flaw).

Yes.
The concept of Street Bidder (as I understand it) is to send targeted postcards with a picture of the homeowners property on the front with a quote for the service you provide.
So how can you offer an accurate quote without viewing the property?
If you can view the whole property for instance by being in the area, cleaning the neighbours etc. then why not just knock the door or write your quote on a leaflet or company stationery and post it through the letterbox while you are there?

Now if you went round the area taking photos of the whole of people's properties by using a GoPro Drone Quadcopter and then delivered the quote to them you might get arrested......but it should get you noticed.  ;D

I can find no mention of what Street Bidder use. Do you know?
If it is Google Streetview it definitely won't show all around all properties.

And it'll be out of date.
My house is 8 years old and street view shows it 5 years ago.
Google earth even worse, shows it at slab stage!
