Jim since doing wfp 9 years now I've had pains in both shoulders, neck I never had any of this when doing ladders, but shouldn't complain as wouldn't get thru work we do now using wfp. I've had quaterzone injections in both shoulders which did the job. May need another as right shoulder is hurting a little. It got to the stage where I couldn't even lift my arm
Up to change gears felt like bone on bone  👳👳👳

Been thro' the cortisone injections etc.
Do you stretch after a day's work?
I've been crippled by tennis elbow, lower back spasms, stiff neck, couldn't sleep on either side 'cos of pain in each shoulder.
STRETCHING after a day's work or heavy physical activity is a MUST  in a physical job like ours.
I'm no gym or fitness fanatic but I've been advised by PI and Physio that stretching is a must.
It works for me - sure some other healthy joggers and jumpers will have their own ideas but .......
WFP is an open invite for Repetitive Strain Injury
Jim try collecting with both hands spread the load ;D ;D ;D ;D

invest in extreme poles guys with extreme brushes.wfp is a doddle then.

i do a bit of swimming and gym and stretch in the morning and evening.i also play drums a few times a week and im 42.

im currently working with a rib injury so ive not been swimming or going to the gym but can just about handle  6 or 7 hours poling with extreme poles.

van mount and 100m of microbore is a must as well.

trust me guys the extremes poles make your working days so easy.far easier than using slxs for example.
price higher/work harder!

Tom Daley does that kind of training.  Do you do fancy dives too?  ;)

A few years back I had an excruciating pain in my shoulder, wouldn't go t the docs until Wor Lass forced me.

I had some rotor cuff damage and the doc gave me a strong anti-inflammatory (Naproxen).  Within two weeks my shoulder was great and hasn't given me any trouble since.

I'm 43 and recently ran a tough off-road and hilly coastal 'marathon' (28.2 miles; two miles longer than a marathon).  No lycra or swimming for me.

Peeps I was being flippant, for those that feel Im maybe being a tad too flippant. I had to leave the Police due to a nasty little condition called Fibromyalgia.. ME x Extreme muscle pain... So I do know all about ongoing pain issues...

What the last 5 years taught me is , I have it, I can't get rid of it, I have to deal with it...

Taking the Pees is one of the ways to deal with it...

Working for myself, working around and with the condition AND reaching out to grab little chunks of cashes AWESOME..

Reaching with two hands... Good advice Ill try it.... lol lol

Call it what you like extreme and debilitating ongoing fatigue does...
And a significantly large proportion of the medical profession recognise ME.
And for those that suffer ME does very much exist..

I thought the SLXs were the best and lightest?  Are the Extremes lighter then?  Is there an SLX-user vs Extreme-user rivalry on here!

Extremes are the best bud.
Indicated by the price.
SLXII's are good though.
I've got both models in different lengths.

Pure I use slx 37 ft but mainly use the ungar 27 ft not that light I must say.

Possitive that's a good idea I may try that stretching, prob do before as I go out early and muscles are quite stiff so abit of stretching will warm them up 😏👳👳👳

Anybody with RSI should invest in an Extreme pole. I use an Extreme 18' as my everyday pole, on the odd occasion I have to use the SLX 22' or 25' they simply don't come close to the Extreme. I had impingement in my shoulder, I went to physio for about six sessions, he made me realise the importance of stretching, which really helped, but the biggest factor in me now being pain free is definitely using the Extreme pole.

He gave me a lot of different stretches to do to improve my posture, he also gave me a rubber band to exercise my muscles. Also when holding the pole, whichever is your highest hand, you will probably always put this hand to the back of the pole, try to put this hand on the front of the pole sometimes, this will work different muscles.
