I have a 4-hour commercial job that I do every 6 weeks on a Sunday, and today was the day. So being as I only use DI (soft water area) I though I'd try filling my tank with hot water from the house's combi boiler.  (Heating's on anyway, so don't think it cost anymore).

So the water wasn't scalding hot, just nice and warm.

Amazing results!  I'm really suprised what a difference it made.

Here is what I found, in the order I found it:

1: Hoses MUCH easier to handle.  Nice and supple, less snagging easy to reel in and reel out.  Also they are now hand-warmers.

2: Water dries quick - so you can be absolutely sure you've made no mistakes.  Also makes it easier to miss windows though, as its harder to tell what has and hasn't been done.

3: Snail trails - usually a right pain in the behind taking a lot of scrubbing, come off as easy as pie.

4: Water definately seems to sheet better - don't know if that's just my imagination.

5: when you get the water on your hands (as always happens a bit) it doesn't freeze you.

6: just seems to make the whole job easier somehow.

Definately will be using for the rest of the winter, and maybe beyond...?

This job is a regular job so no manky windows, I'll be interested to see the difference on dirtier windows.

Hot water is the dogs danglies IMO.

Nice one,i was like a kid at christmas when i did my first day last year on hot water it does'nt just make a difference it makes a MASSIVE difference,there is no way i could work through the winters ever again with out it

no 4, i thought it was my imagination but i feel the water does flow and sheet better............unless were on the same drugs

Even if you use hot water, doesnt it still freeze on the windows at minus 3?

Hot water isn't hot water at -3.
When water reaches freezing point it will freeze, regardless of any temperature it was previously.
Whether water reaches freezing point depends on a few things.

i agree with all your points mate.

hot water does sheet better than cold thats for sure.its thinner than  cold water.its to do with viscosity.

Surely you're mistaken Dazmond! Whether a man has had a viscosity or not, can have little to do with the behaviour of his water.
