I've got a mk 7 tranpoop and it misses the Ford dealership if its not in there every fortnight. A friend has the new sprinter which has been almost as bad but has a mind of its own when loaded on the motorway. A local plant fitted has several Iveco's and he swears by them but admits they are basic. I don't know what the answer is other than having a bit of luck.
My tranpoop has cost me over £10k in garage bills over the last 2 years but is always loaded right up and does 30k miles each year.
A painter friend has a transporter - with a sports pack, I think its a 2.6 auto ? but drinks fuel and is very noisy inside - he mostly drives his mk 6 transit as its nicer to drive.
The mk 8 will be out soon and I'll look at one just for the 3 year warranty

New transit is already out. Not sure if i like it. The Mk6 was the bezt looking transit.

Lee from Blastaway went from a transit to an Iveco, from what i gather he prefers the Iveco.

Love the Iveco. Ours has got upgraded springs on. Great on the weight.

It's a 55 reg, I think Rob has a 55 too. I'm considering getting a new one soon as it's done over 140k now. We drive a Sprinter too for the Manchester Contract and that great on pulling the trailer.

I like the size of the Iveco MWB. I think the LWB would be too much and the problem with the Sprinter is I don't think it's enough space but the next size up I think is too much, too long.

I'm on my 3rd iveco usually change them every 3 years but have decided to keep my current one.

Of them all only had to change 1 seized back door hinge and the battery connector.

I always get the Lwb extra high so I can stand up in the back.

My sprinters touching 187k now and pulls every day. from what i hear and read the new ones arnt as good, freind of mine is an transports manager for a haulage company. bought 3 new crafters.  2 went bang. very early in there life. mate of mine bought a new sprinter crew cab tipper , edc light always on, snapped rearsuspension with 1/4ton rubble on .  ??? used to use an old 190 transit. slugs but trouble free other than timing belts. defo not touching a new tranny. as for iveco im curious. they do a mammoth model which would suite us .

I recently cleaned an Interlink depot. The manager said the Transit was best ? He slated the Renault master for having a bad steering column problem and I had to push a year old one out as it had a electrical / key fault.

Can't beat a Transit in my opinion, but it depends what your lugging about I guess.

Thought about a splinter, but the replacement cat at £2000 put me off.

i've got a 140bhp lwb and no problems, apart from the odd thing here and there but you'll get that no matter what make you go for if your using it every day.

Personally I hate VW vans, to me they're just camper vans but everyones different huh :)

Ford used to be related to Iveco but not so much these days but the transit is not like an Iveco daily at all. The crafter is a re badged sprinter but with subtle differences to trick you when you order bits - things like the diff plate has an extra hole
