I use them, no different than any other. I guess you only find out how good they are when you need to make a claim which I have not done so yet

I use Alexander Swan Insurance Services who also specialize in window cleaners - for PPL insurance (excluding employees liability) it was only £166 and included the building being worked on too. It excluded all the wpf kit as that was insured separately (c. £200 for that).

Some insurance  "seem" good but specify the cover you need... ie we clean roofs, so we specify we need public liability insurance to cover pressure washing of roofs to remove dirt and moss at xxx ft. We also require cover whilst  accessing the roof to clean it
Some insurance policy covers cleaning to a height of xxxft ...for me this is wide open to interpretation as you need to be stood on the ground to clean at the  height covered .
Cleaning of windows at a certain height might be covered at "upto" 20 m  but if you are stood  on the 4 th floor cleaning windows you are cleaning above the "upto" limit.
Don't take everthing at face value ask questions and get it in writing.

You're spot on Chris. I made sure it included p/washing of hard surfaces (not roofs though) and had to specify the max pressure of my machine etc...
It helps to speak to a person at the brokers who actually specialises in the w/cleaning and p/washing industry so they know what they talking about and will ask you the right questions to get the cover right.

Yes that's so right Chris as if you don't specify when coming to make a claim if need be you know what insurances are like anything to get out of paying you out crafty lot them Insurance Company's are.

ok thanks guys it seems not disclosing full t+cs is normal until policy taken on

only thing about gleaming is tho they only cover you to a height of 5 metres  even tho they cover cleaning of gutters, now i dont think many gutters @ 2 storey house level are 5 metres or below, if any

im between 2 minds now tbh

hi dannym

yes we went with them for PL and EL and paid a bit more for tools insurance as we have just moved into a unit, it does cover all the services we provide, this policy includes the area being worked on, and is absed on turnover rather than teh amount of employees you have. It was over £600 (just) we also looked at GT insurance with Stephen Eyre (who was really a top bloke) but this policy was a bit cheaper and there was no charge for paying monthly on DD.

they took ages to get back to me when i was thinkin of going with them. i dont think they are one of the big boys in the insurance game , the big boys usually cover up to 10metres as standard on ladders

Darren yes m8 you gotta go with what works best for you and your business. I think they are new as I've never heard of them before. I've been with A-Plan & Simply Business. Ill prob stay with Simply Business next year !!! Shame cause these company's don't do van insurance same as gleaming don't as I would have preferred to have all my insurances with just the one company o well can't have everything 👳

I have all my insurances thru Alexander Swan, including van insurance. It includes courtesy van fitted with Ionic Thermopure R&W system in case your own van is off the road after an accident.

This is the 3rd year I've been with them. Got quotes from A-Plan but weren't competitive enough.
