Just looking into reels, money isnt an object, but there does seem to be a huge difference in price are the Cox reels for example worth the money....??

Been looking at that myself, only used cheap ones so far, and while they keep working, it doesn't take long for them to start getting stiff. Hopefully someone with 1st hand knowledge will chip in!

IMO the claber reel from gardiners at around  £40 is good IF your not using hot water.they are cheap,lightweight and do the job.excellent reel for the money.

however now i use hot water i splashed out on a radashe koreel hi vis 100 reel.i love it.very robust with all stainless steel fittings and easily handles the hot water.i leave the reel in the van at all times now though as its heavy!

what they like for reeling back in looks to close to the ground where you might catch your knuckle

They are close to the ground Avo, but not so close you catch your nuckles. I have a claber reel as a back up and am using it now, it's fine.

i use the claber with 60metres of micro bore on from gardeners for my domestic work , very light and easy to use .

cox reel they are the dogs initial outlay high but built to last  you will not have to buy another these are the rolls royce of reels.

there is somebody on here who has hose rollers throughout he floor of his van , looks a really good set up to me .

might get round to doing that to mine next year to save lifting hose in and out .

Weighed up several options.

Roller through door,floor,side door etc. Not decided on anything yet.

I think throughout the floor is the best option .

the only thing that puts me off is that i know one day i will forget to lock the reel and find 100 metres of micro bore trailing behind my van .
