Dos anyone know what sort of lenses to look for in sunglasses which offer UV protection without affecting your view of the window?

Snow/sport glasses are the only clear ones For wfp,use any that have uv sticker- mine were £3.99 and are graduated with the bottoms clearer thatn the top of the lenses.

You will not buy better than a decent pair of Oakley sun glasses. They are so good that after a while you forget you have them on. ;)

For me it has to be the Ray-Bans, 100%UV lens, lightweight frame and the lenses are so good its like crystal, try them you'll see a massive difference.

Hi Wavy Davy,

I thought you had left the forum - hadn't seen any posts for ages! Which lenses would you use for window cleaning?

I've had two pairs of the revolution blades in the last month and both have snapped on the earpieces. Can anyone recommend other sunglasses and where to buy them?

Have you got back to the Co-op and asked for replacements? I've had a pair for years - the all-in-one lenses right enough - but that was why I was recommending them to everyone and bought them for the lads.

Nah, it's in the blood, Glen! I'm not on ALL the time - I take wee fits and starts - that'll be why I missed your question first time round. Wasn't being rude, honest.
I use the smoke lenses for poling, and the others for cycling. Yellow for low light if I'm going through woods, and the clear just to keep flies out of my eyes anyway!

Yes I have and they have replaced them without quibble but I think the problem has arisen from wearing them on my forehead when indoors; the plastic earpieces just can't take the strain and eventually snap. I've probably got the "wrong" shape of head ::)

Not totally relevant to the questionbut if you wear tinted prescription glasses make sure you put on a high factor underneath the eye and on the eyelid.

To much direct exposure to the sun once burnt my eyes.

Optician told me its because of the magnifying effects of the prescription lenses. - Ouch  ::)
