I think that, generally speaking, most customers don't keep a tight tab on their window cleaning schedule, but perhaps converting from 4 to 8 weekly cleans was just too big a jump.

Earlier this year I changed all my 8 weekly customers to 6 weekly without any complaints.

Really? did you tell them? Did any ask for a price reduction or a move to 12 weekly?

i hav 4,5 and 6 weekly, its a mad jumble some weeks when they all clash.  no matter  we cope

now and then somebody ask to change to 12 weekly . i reply "what, miss you out

they say "yes"    and i say ok, but then strike them off the list  . u gotta be   cruel to be kind , in the right measure . cruel to be kind its a very good sign

It kind of sounds like I should have at least informed them of my intentions, doesn't it, but let me tell you how it transpired.

Well basically, I just conformed to their, "thanks Nick! See you in 6 weeks" farewells. It seemed to make no difference to how many times I reiterated that it was in fact an 8 weekly schedule. The 6 weekly adios inevitably persisted; like an ingrained mantra. So...6 weekly it is!

If a new customer appears unhappy with a 4 weekly schedule, then I offer a 6 to 8 weekly alternative as opposed to suggesting a 6 weekly rotation simply because 6 to 8 weekly sounds a much lengthier time period that just attenuating the frequency by 2 weeks to 6 weekly.

My intention, of course, is to clean every 6 weeks which I'm much more likely to achieve using the aforementioned psychology.

Listen, I sorry that I've refrained from referring to you by name, it seems so rude, but I think it's for the best as it could confuse matters.

Following on from that, I don't think I could change my frequency because that would be more than my head could deal with.

Im 6 and 12 weekly but usually takes longer from really wet days and other things holding me back. Seriously considering changing to 5/10 weekly now.

Originally when I started I offered 4,6 and 8 weekly.

It's proved to be a nightmare. You've got to keep it in equal multiples.

As of Jan offering 4 or 8 weekly only.

Anyone that kicks up a fuss will be slashed off, axed.

I have 2 or 3 on 12 weeks which I'll leave alone as they are good as gold, but I won't take on anymore 12's.

Key thing I've learned is to set out from the word go with your customers what you CAN do and what you WONT do.

Also have confidence. Lack of confidence allows customers to walk all over you.

Cheers,

Caleb

i really dont understand you keep changing frequencies!! ::)roll

4 weekly to 8 weekly overnight?then now to change them again to 6 weekly?

many years ago i did fortnightly and monthly then about 15 years ago i put them all on monthly as 2 weekly really was too frequent although lots of window cleaners still clean fortnightly near me.

now i have lots of different frequencies but it doesnt cause me too much trouble organising due to round software.

most work is monthly or 2 monthly

some work is 6 weekly(commercial and some stand alone domestic)

some 3 monthly jobs

a 6 monthly large church

on lots of very compact work its either monthly or 2 monthly.i wont clean 6 weekly or 3 monthly on this work as it would mean cleaning work out of sync and returning to some streets at different times which i dont do.

very best wishes

Not sure why anyone would change from 4 weekly to 8 weekly. Surely you will earn less money.

I do monthly (not 4 weekly) and 2 monthly on my compact houses only. Got a few big 3 monthly houses, but i only take theses on if the money is there.
A load of 6 monthly and yearly student houses and daily, weekly and fortnightly shops.

I would consider going to 6 weekly if I had more 8 weekly then 4 weekly but at the moment i haven't

Why would you want to change from 4 to 8 weeks in the first. To do more customers and stop anyone else have a go. Its seams like a real dumb move.I have 4/6/8/12/weekly and cannot wait to say sorry I am full.
