finally ready for winter now!
« on: November 15, 2013, 04:50:19 pm »

ordered some radiator hose online a few days ago and paid extra for express delivery but its still not turned up so i nipped down to the local car spares shop today and bought this radiator hose for a fiver(1m).cleaned car and van with hot water and NO LEAKS WHATSOEVER!!working brilliant now!im well happy! ;D ;D

ive changed all connectors on hose reel and pole hoses to rectus 26 fittings, double jubilee clipped most connections,QR gardiners female hoselock on brass screw tap into hot outlet.fantastic! ;D

sorted all my odd and ends out in my storage space.ice melt grit at the ready, screenwash.oil filled radiator etc.

im still in a lot of pain lads but i felt a bit better today.just gonna take it easy but going back to work on monday morning.

best wishes to you all

yes from corwoods tom.£180 including VAT.no 20 min cut off.12 month warranty.although some of the other guys have similar for £100 or so.

tom crowther they are dead easy to fit mate.you just need good heavy duty connectors and car radiator hose from hot outlet to reel.also if you have a claber reel you ll need to upgrade to a better one as a few guys have warped theirs with the hot water.mines a brand new radashe koreel hi vis 100 reel.not cheap but very heavy duty and sturdy with stainless steel fittings.

i rigged up my old claber reel yesterday with 100m of  spare standard microbore.its a fantastic value reel and very very light but its not man enough for the hot water but itll come in handy in the summer  if i decide to stick with cold during the warmer months.

Dazmond, I just want to say that I have really enjoyed reading about your hot water adventure and I'm glad that you're all up and running now.

Keep those pics a coming!

1/2 inch brass male hoselock just screws directly on hot outlet thread.plenty of ptfe tape and screwed in tight.QR gardiners female hoselock on radiator hose with 2 jubilee clips.these are very heavy duty and NO LEAKS EVEN UNDER PRESSURE AND HEAT!!im very happy with em!! ;D

the radiator hose looks like its bubbling up but its not!id just fitted it in this pic.its great when it gets hot water pumping through it!it ironed out the hose and it just gets warm to the touch even when heaters been running a while!great hose for hot water.

Has your gas not got a jubilee clip Daz?
Looks like it may just fall off?
Unless it's a connector I've not seen before...

Cool.
I only bought my Corwoofs heater about 3 months ago and didn't recognize the fitting.
Mine's different.
All the best.

bad luck with the fall.
great topic and pics here as a few probably want to do it.
what might also be handy if you have the time would be to put suppliers up and links and prices up to help other out.
hope u recover quickly

1/2 inch Ben.just ask in any car spares shop.they normally sell it in 1m lengths which is just the right size for me as I leave reel in van now when unreeling and winding in. ;D
