to much hassle, to buy the purpose made pole isnt expensive a clx 18 is half a days earnings.

harris pole..is on average a half hour of earning ;)

But a Harris pole isn't made by Gardiners so it's useless.

........................................

In the past I used a Harris pole for about 2 years and it did the job fine.
Just chant..... Hare Krsna, Hare Krsna, Krsna Krsna, Hare Hare, Hare Rama, Hare Rama, Rama Rama, Hare Hare. It's beats chanting Tory Tory or Labour Labour.

got half a dozen sat in garage ready for use...will keep me going
for years they are relatively light which isnt a issue for me anyway.
i personaly think whats on the end of the pole(brush) is more important
than the weight of the pole especially at lower heights up to 30 feet.

The overall height of pole can be a issue i suppose, but i use mine
modular anyway so not a issue again and adjust height when necessary
using my band system.

If i need third storey i just stick a old fibre glass section on the end.

As for gardiners poles they are obviously very good and have recomended
them to others, but would be far too fragile in my hands would be wasted
on me :)

They wouldn't last long with me either. Unger used to make an angle adapter that fitted the Harris. You had to drill the rivet out of the end of the Harris and remove the part that the  cone screws onto[ or just cut the end off with a hacksaw] You have to drill a hole in the top of the pole for the little spring lugs on the adapter to locate. You squeeze the little spring buttons on the adapter as you insert it into the pole, they then click out of the holes you drilled and keep the adapter in place.
I haven't mentioned it for a while so for any new Harris pole users this is how to fix the clamps when they start to slip.
1] Undo the clamps to reveal the plastic claws
2] Get a plastic drinks bottle and cut off the top bit and the bottom, then cut it down the middle, you should now be left with a plastic sheet.
3] cut a strip a centimeter wide  off the bottle
4] insert one end of the strip under a claw and wrap it all the way round once.
5] screw your clamp back on and it's fixed, your clamps will hold again.

Mine too. The stanley paintpad swivel is the best swivel you can ever use, so easy to convert for the Harris pole and fits onto the cone.
