Rinsing???

Hi
I've started a new question here 'cos original post went on a different track.

He also spends an age rinsing off the glass, even with a high flow rate...again, his work, his rules but what a waste of time!!
Is you have washed the windows properly then you are rinsing as you are washing and rinsing once you have washed the windows is either a lack of confidence in your ability to clean windows with wfp or a mistaken belief that it is necessary to do so.

There are occasions when it will make sense to rinse (although I personally always rinse with the tips of the brush on the glass) but by and large it just isn't necessary...although of course many on here would argue differently  Cool

Hi bit surprised this wasn't picked up on a bit more.
Ian is long established so I would like to get your opinions on this!
The mantra with WFP seems to be rinse, rinse again if it's windy then - extra rinsing etc...

The only way I can see it working well is if you fan the brush from side to side - cleaning and rinsing from top to bottom to carry the dirty water down. But hard on the shoulders. Sad Sad
Most windies I have seen brush vertical up - down.
Inevitably if you leave the brush on the glass you will carry dirty water back up the window that you have already washed down.
So I think if you work that way then in that case you need to rinse.
But I think I rinse too much but you only find out after - when it's too late!!!

I would love to know the answer to this although it will most likely be a answer dependent on frequency of clean and type of window glass I would imagine. The guy that did my block of flats didn't rinse one window. He gave them a good scrub and the just left them. He wasn't methodical about going down side to side either just a general scrub. And the result were ok. Although my window were fairly clean anyway.

I think I waste too much time and water rinsing down the windows. Although fan jets have speeded this up. I wonder if just turning up the flow a notch or two and methodically going down the window would be sufficient. Faster and use less water meaning more window to be do e in the day

This is easy. Clean your own Windows and look at the results?

I prefer a side to side action especially if there are vents above, I then rinse once on the glass and then once off the glass

Good scrub & a quick rinse for me- usually off the glass.

There are times when you could not rinse provided that you've scrubbed enough with a high enough flow & there are times when you have to rinse.

Nothing is set in stone with WFP, there are so many variables that dictate situations.

The BIGGEST benefit to the wfp user is knowledge, once you fully understand it you can then rectify any issues as you understand what has caused it & how! THIS is better than anyone else telling you anything!!

Now THAT is a great bit of advice and knowledge which should always be remembered while posting on here

Subject = Rinsing???
The use of question marks usually indicates the presence of a question.
Or maybe I should have started the topic "This is a question" for those who are a bit slow!!!!

The higher you work the less rinsing off the glass, this in turn leaves only one option, on maintenance cleans scrub and rinse on from top to bottom at all times only once with good water flow.

Clean cill turn off water and swipe excess and move on to the next window.

Number one rule, keep an eye on brush and debris, clean it off on lower windows as your working.

no matter how big my business goes in the future I will always do the best jobs possible, and for me that means rinsing.
