Hi everyone...

Today I go under the knife.  Doctor having a go with my knee.  Torn meniscus!

A few suggestions:

Strengthen your quadraceps and other muscles
Stretch before and during work
Be careful with certain movements like twisting or pivoting

You might like this next one.  My recovery time will be 2 weeks.  Another window cleaner who is also a friend of mine is covering my work these next two weeks.  He is doing it for no pay.  We are trading off.  In a few months, he will take a vacation and I will cover his jobs.  We have put it into contract to make sure all the nasty details are ironed out. 
I guess we have to be careful, and try to be as prepared as possible.  No one plans on getting hurt, but it serves us well to have a plan.

Good advice there Marc, and some wise decisions too.

when i was sick 3 years ago, a good friend came and covered a few of my jobs, just to keep something going.  he drove 100 miles with his son and didn't want anything for it.  Did it more than once too.  That's a friend!
With a bit of help from the family too, I hung on to my basic work, but I was off for nearly 6 months in the end, so I had to part with loads, some after 16 years!
I nearly packed it all in.  But I got going again, now in my 19th year, learning the art of wfp.  Glad to be alive!

What's the long-term prognosis?  100% recovery?

Hey folks...

Thanks!  Surgery went ok.  I got video of it.  Kind of hard to watch.  Doc says I should go back to cleaning glass in 3 weeks and 100% in about 3 months.

Tosh, its a torn cartilage, I had one repaired by arhroscopic surgery not long after I left the army...piece of cake. I`ve had worse shaving cuts
