Looks good, what brush is that he is using?? Looks the daddy.

The brush is an Unger Nlite. I reckon it's the best brush I've ever used and yes, I do have a selection of Gardiners brushes as well and before any arguments start about Gardiners being the best, it is just my opinion.

I did a first clean today and was turning the brush a lot to get into the corners of the frames. Does that mean that if I used the Aqua Tap, I couldn't do that as it would be turning the flow on and off or am I missing the point altogether?

And yes Ben, I was using my lead weight Unger OMG Nlite brush. What an idiot I am eh?

'On paper' this is what I would worry about. I have several conservatory cleans I do that I can't get down the side of and need to be done from the front. If the gap is on the right hand side of the conservatory from the front, scrubbing the muck off the cills will tend to twist the brush due to only half the brush head being used to clean the cill. This twist will switch the tap off.

Others have also commented as you have that you are going to be limited with what you can do with your brush, ie gutter and fascia cleaning etc. Maybe they have to think about some form of locking mechanism on this Aquatap, but this defeats its original purpose.

We will await the reviews once the euphoria of the new product has died down.

So Pete is your brush dirty or clean when you lift it off the glass?  Personally mines is clean and don't need to lift off to rinse separately, so no problem for people who use it that way.  If it's not clean and you see a reason to lift off, then resting it on the frame below the window is not going to cause any problems, and your brush is not going to end up any worse off for it. If your brush is clean and you still lift it off to rinse separately then its certainly not going to be clean as soon as it hits the next window that it is needing cleaned, so again no problem there with it touching a frame below a piece of glass that's just been cleaned.  Most people clean the frames anyway, and those that don't probably don't because the constant flow of water on the frame below the glass keeps it relatively clean.

We all work in a certain way, with different equipment, and we all have different techniques moving around the glass, cleaning rinsing etc.  We all have the odd awkward window that we have to go about in a different way.  What I am offering people is an alternative to what they do just now, a very simple way to control the water, on and off, and reduced flow.  the only way that you don't have to stop what your doing to turn the water off going from window to window, with your hands on the pole and your eyes on the glass.
Now there may be a time when you have to adjust your technique to make something work the way it needs to. Some might have a problem with that and not willing to change, some will see the benefits and change willingly.

I am asking the questions like the above to resolve any problems people may have, or think they may come across using the tap.

Spruce, a locking device and tension setter has already been designed and in the plans for future models if people want it, and need it.  Best for me to wait and see what develops.  So far there has only been a few minds working on it, lets see what happens and develops over time when there are lots of minds working to make it better.  Same with the swivel brush I have ideas for that as well, and even a whole new design which works in a completely different way that would make no difference with a swivel.  Again I have to wait to see what develops.

Supposing that was the case like you say, then I am sure a little bit less pressure on the brush would keep the water pumping.  Think of it this way.  You clean all the conservatory windows that you described, you then clean the ledges, and supposing the water did go off because one half of the brush was being pressed and it just so happened to be on the one side that would turn the water off, would it be a big deal? just scrubbing the already soaked ledge with the water off? That would probably leave the ledges spotless, but if you wanted you could turn the water back on and rinse the ledge without the brush touching it.  Like I said it is a very easy way to control water flow for maybe 95% or so of cases, yes there may be some cases where you have to modify the way you work as in this case, clean the windows of each one first then do the ledges afterwards.  No point in writing something off that could save you a great deal of hassle, water, and time because of something that may happen on a tiny percentage of the window you clean.  Think more of the advantages on the other 95% or so of windows that are cleaned.  Supposing it did need locked then yes it would defeat the purpose on the small minority of windows as you would not be able to start and stop the water, but don't forget how easy it would be on the very large percentage.  I had a few windows when I worked that the brush I used couldn't get into, and had to use a cut down brush, I never through the brush away because it didn't work on all the windows.  It was still the best brush for doing the majority of windows I had.
