I use 25,30 and a 60 litre
the 30 litre are from here

and the 60 litre is one of these

i find they are all useful rather than have just one size,Gaz  ;)

If you're manhandling them then I reckon 25 litres is a sensible max size. So my trolley carries one or two at one time. (see here at www.window-tools.com)
It's a game of three halves!

when i first started out i had a 250ltr tank in my van and about 5or six 25ltr drums to top it up as it went down. lasted nearly a day but quite often had to go back and fill up from my tank in the garage.
then i put a 650 ltr in it but after a few days realised i was being really silly and got a bigger van!! ::)

I reckon that 250 litres would be absolute maximum for an Escort (assuming Escort 55 rather than 75).  Even then, I would say make sure you don't carry a passenger when your water tank is more than half full.  It might be an idea to put everything into the van that you will need then, with an empty tank, go to a weighbridge.  This will tell you if you can fill up the tank (remember that the diesel counts toweards the total.)
