part wool part synthetic carpet clean
« on: November 06, 2013, 06:32:14 pm »
Ive got a carpet clean coming up and the lady has got a part wool part synthetic carpet in her living room that she wants me to clean. Now Ive upgraded my machine to a prochem with 150 psi and the heat n run water heater. Ive got various prochem chems to use but I just wanted to see how you guys would go about cleaning a carpet thats not 100% wool or synthetic. Im thinking of adding a bit of deodorizer to my mix but what mix would you suggest and with which chemicals, its a beige coloured carpet by the way and a foam backing

A foam backed carpet? And percentage wool?

Have you checked or is it customers say so?

I had a quick look, will check properly when I go back, think its foam backed, customer said its a mix of wool and synthetic but didnt say what % of each, its an old carpet so maybe she doesnt remember exactly...
I can burn test some fibres but that wont tell me the % will it? just the type of each fibre :S

The chances of it being foamed backed and have wool content is slim to none, if in doubt treat as wool.

You say it's beige, have you got anything recommended for beige carpets?
It's not expensive, you just can't afford it.

Foam back carpets were discontinued longer ago than the backing would last anyway. I would suggest you attend some training courses before letting yourself loose on your customers property.

^^ Why would you advise anyone to clean their own carpets on your website?^^
Seems a strange thing to do.

Sometimes what seems illogical is logical .

Anything on the blog can be searched and found in 2 seconds on google .
Results are what matters that blog ranks first page on google for my key words ,
And it's free .

Any off  you could do it but you won't as it takes time , so you will pay some web designer then complain about them

It's the same with showing people how to clean there own carpets they won't and if they do they mess it up , just look how many times it's been shared .

Same with starting a cc business I know personally about 5 that have started and then jacked in .

It's called marketing

That's the strangest thing I have seen on a CC website. Instructions on how to clean their own carpets with a RD or Vax - surely it's turning potential clients away? Also giving advice on how to start up a CC business - it could be someone on the next street who may take his clients away too?

Would like to know the reasons, as I don't get it? Good luck to him though if it works!

I get the idea. A lot of internet marketing is based on the idea that they show you how to do something (showing your expertise) but human nature being what it is, you are too scared or bone idle to follow through on it yourself.

This logic only works here if you explain the pitfalls and what could go wrong (subtly) and all the benefits of getting a professional in. Doing it simply to get traffic is a bit faulty logic wise.
It's not expensive, you just can't afford it.
