do drain jetters work on a 15l/min machine
« on: October 31, 2013, 08:57:55 am »
Hi

Its not something I'm going to get into in a big way but I get asked sometimes whilst gutter cleaning if I can unblock a drain. I've got a 15l/min 250bar machine and I know you can get drain clearing nozzles and hose for that flow rate but has anyone done it with that flow is it effective?

Rain water drains shouldn't be a problem. I have unblocked plenty as the blockage is usually close to the surface.
I haven't, nor would I want to, tackle sewerage drains

It's not just the flow but also nozzle selection. 1 forward 3 rear will do most blockages but be careful when going into the house with this nozzle - 3 rear is used in this situation. Most domestic "soft" blockages will clear with 15 ltrs as thats where I started. To offer a domestic service you should know the layout of a chamber with an interceptor or buckham trap but these will mostly clear with a plunger on a rod

Thanks for the tips. Do you use the spinning nozzles or are the normal ones adequate?

Normal nozzles - rotary ones are just used for descaling or root removal
