Went to look at a suite today really heavy chain smoker furniture all covered in nicotine what would you use ??

Ultrapac or Champion, acid rinse same as smoke damage.

comes off quite easy with anything. try powerburst or enzall or forumal90 or whatever you have.

The smell might be an issue though. Is it a second hand suite going in to a non smoking house? If its staying in a same smoking household then your laughing.

Nicotine is a tar so I would after testing go with ultrapac or fabric restorer it's going to need a good dwell, I would brush in and towel off then hwe when you get the results you want I would then again towel off so the nicotine that is encrusted into the fabric doesn't wick through, bio clean post sprayed and towel dried may be a good way of reducing the smell.

Then go home and wash your kit, throw your clothes in the washing machine and have a good shower.

fabric restorer is also effective on nicotine. It is not a difficult thing to overcome.

Thanks lad's going to go with ultrapac. I have cleaned these before but never this brown and sticky yuk Then home for a shower and change of kit as Shaun said.

You might want to add some Citra boost to help the ultra PAC cut it at lower dilutions

Ultrapac is something that I always keep on the van but for me it is a problem solver and something that I rarely use, whereas fabric restorer is a regularly used and very effective chemical on specific things. It is very effective on nicotine without the need for any boosters, it does not need the rinsing etc that ultrapac does.

Back in the day when smoking was allowed EVERYWHERE......we used to clean the carpets / upholstery in Bingo Halls around the country.  The upholstery was always thick with brown crap from people smoking.  Bear in mind the upholstery in many of the Bingo Halls had never seen any type of cleaning and was often 10 - 15 years old.  Prochem Fabric Restorer did the job first time EVERY TIME.

There are are few specific things that nothing will come close to fabric restorer. These being, cotton prints, nicotine, and concentrated on hair grease and body oils on upholstery.
As said before ultrapac does have its uses as well but in other situations, it does not have the brightening effect of fabric restorer and does need to be heavily rinsed.

Peter Normally I use Pure Clean with Fabric Restorer for head grease or oily spots.
I asked this to see what others would use as I have never come across anything with this much nicotine on it. I have to say Ultrapac just dissolved. One VERY happy customer.

If your an upholster as I am you can see immediately the problem of cleaning heavily soiled upholstery. When the fabric is taken off the padding, sponging or whatever it is, you see the how much muck has penetrated this.
As a test I cleaned some white cotton in the sink that had come off a very dirty arm chair. I wrung it out as best possible and lightly laid it back over the padding.
All the dirt quickly came wicking back to the surface as the fabric dried.

That's your problem right there Mr Blacky.

You over wetted the fabric. Try using a low moisture hand tool like a CFR attached to a power machine, and towel the sofa down next time.

Fabric restorer is just as effective. It is not such a problem now since the non smoking rule but used to use gallons of the stuff before. Have even used it on blinds. I had a car valeter that used to use it on roof linings in smokers cars.
