android & iphone apps
« on: October 24, 2013, 02:13:15 pm »
Hi,

Was just wondering whether anyone uses a app for there business and how they use it, i.e. pricing / booking etc and whether its productive or not.

Was thinking about doing it as so many people have tablets and smart phones now.

Regards
Steve

Hi Steve I asked the question to one of the crm providors they told me the files are too big to work on a telephone and need at least a tablet sized amount of memory or whatever to work (very techy answer) ;D

That may be true, will find out, I got an app done for my website on fiverr.com and will see if I can get it uploaded.

worth messing around with at that price.

I use an Ipad mini running pocket cloud to access Cleaners Mate on my home computer. Works fine. If you work in areas with a poor signal though you may have problems accessing the DB, but then most CRM apps are cloud based anyway.

Having said that I honestly think having a dedicate, cheap netbook is all you need combined with CM. I just got a netbook off ebay for £82 loaded with Windows 7 and Office, crazy cheap.
It's not expensive, you just can't afford it.

Wynne
Just check the screen resolution first. I had the same idea, but my netbook unfortunately cannot handle neither Cleaners Mate nor Get Booked Up  :(
It's a shame really...
But good luck with it.
