belgians question
« on: October 24, 2013, 02:03:00 pm »
hi, is it safe to assume that all highly patterned polyprops with highly visible pattern on back are Belgians, if so as there been a big ressurgance with em, I seem to get loads when I go quoting yet when I did my training I was told they were few and far between..thanks

Yes there are lots around and the big identifier is the repeat of the face pile pattern on the woven back.  It is of course the foundation yarns that shrink resulting in rugs which don't sit flat.  Fewer Belgian wilton fitted carpets but look out for them in Indian restaurants.  I don't like doing them but have a couple next week as part of a bigger job.  I'll go low moisture with a buffing.
