how did you fit your heater on van door?

for those that have their lpg gas heaters on back van doors how did you do it?

post pics if you can guys it would be most helpful! ;)

ive not got any plywood on my kangoo door and ive bought a thick piece of board to mount the unit to but not sure how im gonna fix it to van door! ::)roll

can u not fix it to the side of the van just by the rear door rather than the van door, that's what we did, we then mounted the heater onto batons, ran some heatshield insulation up the back of it and secured batons with to the appropriate sections of the inner skin to the van.

Like you would Mount a peice of wood on the van!   Sorry I am sarcasm mode plus I would build some sort of frame.

Ay up Damond. Hang it on 3 of your goose necks , with 2 crapadapters underneath . Anyway what you want an heater for , I thought you was still trad . ;D

i hang it from a hook so you can it inside to prevent frost damage

You will need "self tapping screws" long enough to go through the baton and the metal work you are screwing it to and to drill a "pilot" hole with a metal drill bit slightly smaller than the screw.

I bought X2 strips of metal straps with holes in from B&Q measure from the fat side edge of door to the other, cut strap drilled holes in the fat edging of back doors and you should have a bolt as back of shower which you can bolt onto metal straps. Use self tapping screws easy peasy !!!

i hang mine with a hook from a hole in the roof of the van near the door, so i can quickly take it in with the reals etc when it get o'er cold

did you use normal self tapping screws? does it hold properly?

Hi Ben yes normal ones you could put any screws in make sure you don't drill hole to big, better off drilling slightly smaller than screw so the screw goes in nice and tight.
