Last winter my hands were always cold and no gloves worked

can someone please recommend a decent pair of gloves that wont soak through and will keep me warm ? thanks

sainsburys thick cotton lined blue rubber gloves... put them on the van heaters for 10mins on a morning there fine all day

I wore those last winter & even with nitrile glove liners it felt like my fingertips were on fire some mornings...

I'm yet to find some gloves that will do the trick in cold conditions when doing mainly WFP with a bit of trad thrown in...

just bought some youngstown waterproof winter gloves, seem good, cost 25 pound a pair tho, waiting for the cold to hit

suffered quite a lot with my hands in the winter just gone..so not

Had a look at them they look as good and as useless as Sealskinz gloves the outer of the glove is not waterproof they just have waterproof inner membrane .

Which means that the outer of glove will get wet which will lead to your hands been freezing .


Bought some winter gloves of www.gardinerpolesystems.co.uk  they are the lightweight blue glove for £9:00 with vat .

kept my hands warm in past 2-3 days with the cold winds plenty of room for a glove liner whether nitrile glove or cotton . 

My hands still got cold with Showa 377's  and glove liner but i have nerve damage in my hands so my hands get cold easily , But for really wet days they are the ultimate waterproof glove . Mike

The problem with the neoprene gloves I find is that they stink really bad after a bit. They keep the water out OK but no good at keeping your hands warm.
Want to use something decent this year.

As i need some good gloves this winter i am watching this thread with interest. Was looking at some neoprene gloves but will wait for other sugestions now!

Not sure what kind of neoprene gloves you have been using, but the whole point of them IS to keep your hands warm, and in my experience, that is what they do. As for the smell, yes they can get a bit smelly, but that is the same with most waterproof gloves, especially if not breathable, but it is easy enough to clean them.
But, they don't necessarily keep your hands dry (some do, some don't, I think it depends on what kind of neoprene), and the ones I used were prone to tearing on the pole clamps. I do like the look of those diving ones though, might give them a try myself.

Warmest things youll ever wear. £12 or so a pair. Two pairs will see you through winter.  Need two in case you get water inside one of them so you can stay warm while the other pair dries. If they dont do the job contact me and Ill pay for them for you.
