Hose reel
« on: October 09, 2013, 07:47:06 pm »
Has any one ever had one made or got any plans/dimensions etc. I do not want to be spending £500 or thereabouts. How quick and how good are they, any info would be a great help.

I've never had one made but I definately wouldn't be with out one just makes life easier and faster also neater IMO £500 is money well spent as you'll have it for ever.

Did my one myself cost me no more then e50 for steal and few euros for rods, cutting discs, paint etc. + 2 full days of work. Aaaa and e50 for sand blasting. Around 120 for everything. Nice if you are not that busy and have a time for it.
Also had to do myself as the ones you can buy would not fit on the van over the waste tank

I like the idea of having one fabricated mainly because you can get something that fits your needs and van. On the other hand it would be a lot easier to get a second hand one for half the price of a new one.
It's not expensive, you just can't afford it.

How are you going to bend the tube, can you tig weld, how much do you think the steel is going to cost, then there is powder coating, stainless steel nuts and bolts
Talk to this guy, get a quote for shipping, ask him for an invoice for $10 Tell him your a friend of Vernon and Tony from AMF, buy a few bits you will need later to make it a bit cheaper. They come flat packed
