If you only need a 18 foot pole then the CLX 18 will do fine its not worth
going for a SLX at that height.
I have never owned a 18 foot SLX but have a SLX 25 which to be honest is not as rigid a pole
as a lot on here make out. Was slightly disappointed with it.
Maybe because the CLX18 was that good that I expected too much from the SLX25.
Wouldn't hesitate in going for the CLX18 its a fantastic pole at a great price.

Can only back that up. The CLX18 is one cracking pole.

It's not just the weight Neil, it's the whip in it too.
I can't comment on the CLX as I've never had one but the SLXII 18 is a lovely pole to work with.
The extreme is very rigid but I didn't want to be restricted by the clamping points at 18ft.
Go for it. It's only money and you'll only spend it on something else.

It's just the internet. Try not to worry.
