Hose Reel & Hose
« on: October 06, 2013, 06:55:45 pm »
Hi Fells, could someone please point me in the direction of a decent hose reel and hose that works well.

I am slightly confused as have only been using a trolley system and the hose provided with the gardiner slx 25. (yellow pole hose pvc/rubber 8mm OD). This has worked fine but would now like to be able to keep the trolley in the van whilst working on some jobs and also give myself the option of leaving the trolley in once place to do a whole house so would need a hose reel and hose.

I had planned to buy the same hose and use this as an extension but have now realised this is wrong and wondered which hose would be the correct one to purchase? I am mainly confused by the hose that I need (size and type) I only have cold water at the moment so no need for a hot water hose. Also are the plastic reels any good or should I go straight for a metal one?

Thanks, Tom

Get the lightweight reel from Gardiners had mine over 2 yrs now and still going strong  and personally i would get the thermobore hose as it is far more durable had mine 9 months now without any probs or wear issues . Mike

Tommy I got my metal redash commercial hose reel fro Gardiners had it for about 3 or 4 years now with the metal rectus snap on fittings. I've got 100metres of 6mm mini bore then change the hose in winter to the 6mm ThermoboreBore for my hot wash. I'd buy the 100m if I were you m8, mind you Mines fitted and bolted in van so don't have to keep dragging it out, as can be quite a back breaker if I had to take it in & out alday 😃
