Hi Dave , OUCH !

Im on one and it works out at £3.50 per cubic metre , thats why as long as im on a metre im using DI only , with the use of my little filter i made a while back i only have to buy a bag of resin every 3 months

OUCH to the pair of you :o

Holy cr*p thats expensive :o

My water rates are around £150 per year, though we don't have a charge for sewage cos we have a cesspit...or is that septic tank? Ours is the brick built type with a soak-away, as against the fibreglass lightbulb shaped ones ???

Someone else also posted here somewhere (was it Malc Gould??) that their mother pays around 90 odd pence + vat per cubic metre :P

The trouble with metering is that the water companies can keep putting up the prices with ease and end out not making enough effort to replace those leaking mains :-\

I'm bloody glad I don't live down in the South East thats for sure, and what with Idiot-Man Prescott intending to build tens of thousands more homes in the driest areras of the country it is only goingto get worse!!

yeah my mum pays bout 33quid a month not on a meter so i guess thats about a quid a day. don't sound much when you think of it like that.

as for that fat prescott he needs his head looked at, he has just last week decided to build 80,000 new homes in the countryside between portsmouth and southamton, the only good thing to come of it is that they are all going to need a window cleaner!!!!!!!!!

I would not be to smug no matter where you live, now one water authority has permission of the government to force their customers on to water meters watch how quick they all jump on the band wagon :'( :'(

Cheers Jeff.

I live very close to Ian and I pay:

£173. 83 for water charges

£223.17 for Sewerage Chages:  Surface Water Drainage and Foul.

But I get £9.50 x 2 discount on each for paying by Direct Debit,
so my annual bill is £378.00.

Obviously all the rain water that falls round Ian's quarter-of-a-million pound house, situated in the countryside, goes straight into his septic tank.

Where-as I live in a 'shoe-box' on an estate and pay more than double what he does; even though he uses a van-mounted system and I use a backpack.

There's no justice!!!!

I am on a water meter and I pay £35.55 per month for my water on direct debit = 391.05 yearly (over 11 months)  with severn trent water.

There are 5 of us so we do create quite a lot of clothes washing.

I am really cafeful about how much water I use otherwise though.

I don't use wfp at the moment, I dread to think how much this will go up when I do.

Hiya P@F.

What little filter?

Don't you use RO with it's expensive wastage?

My water is 430.

I'd be interested in your little filter.
