Ionics black pole hose?
« on: October 03, 2013, 11:04:20 pm »
Does anyone know where i can get the hose that i got years ago from ionics.  It is pole hose, black, and is extremely bendable!  It does not kink and has a great memory in so much as it immediately straightens. They dont seem to sell it anymore but i love it.

No and you risk being sued if somebody trips over it. Hence why most suppliers switched to yellow I think.

That's not it at all.

OP-I've not seen that hose for ages either. Assume it's discontinued.

It's just the internet. Try not to worry.

Well I think that's why Gardiners switched. Pole hose description on their website says:

" Recently (Oct 09) a window cleaning client had legal action sought against him for using pole hose that could not clearly be seen. This was following a trip incident that led to an alleged injury. Despite having a trip warning sign placed by the hose reel and van, it was claimed that this was insufficient warning. Because of this and other similar incidents we now supply all of our water fed poles with 'Hazard Yellow' pvc hose - still lightweight and flexible just in yellow "

Does anyone know of an equivalent that i can use.  The yellow ones i have all do not have the bendyness that the ionics stuff had.

Ring Ionics, they sell an orange pole hose which is the best, Craig told us on a course how bendable it was and he was right. I have used it since and its brilliant, I kink the hose to stop the flow and so no need for an aquadapter. Fitted it onto my new slx pole and have my perfect set up.

I loved that Ionics black pole hose too.  I now use one from Aquadapter that's pretty good, but they keep on chopping and changing.

Give them a bell or send them an e-mail and they'll sort you out with what you're after.  They've posted about this before on this forum.
