Marketing Idea
« on: March 08, 2006, 07:28:31 pm »
Hi All

Went to do a job today and Mum at home was having a Mothers Coffee morning, She asked me to carry on and clean, which I did.

After the usual top job the other Mums went and had a look at the carpets.

I walked away with 4 Jobs.

Gets me thinking about whether to offer this out as a service to People so that I can pick up jobs from the others at the meetings. Offer a big discount to the person hosting the Coffee morning and then hopefully pick up other jobs out of it.

Has anyone else tried anything like this and does it work on a regular basis.

Cheers

Neil

Womens Institutes are always on the lookout for speakers for their gatherings. Get yourself in there with a bit stain removal, carpet identification, tips etc and you are bound to pick up some loyal customers.

PARTY PLAN HERE I COME!!!  ;D

Seriously, could be worth looking into. Is there some kind of incentive for the 'host'? Could it be arranged that at the end of the clean they come round or near the end of the clean?
It's all about numbers, and if you only did 2/3 a month of these types of cleans would it be the hassle of trying to arrange it?
How would you fit it into your 'close' on the phone?
Would it put people off?
Just questions at the moment, but is there an opportunity here?  8)

Just like the range of Tupperware underwear - not very comfortable, but keeps what i got fresh!!!  ;D

When i became self employed i was given a business councillor to work on ideas for my business for twelve months.

The first meeting with him, in a pub, this was one thing he suggested. Holding cleaning parties for women. I never thought no more about it, but it could work.

Personally i always give 5 or 6 leaflets to every customr i work for to hand out to friends or leave in their office.

Yes Neil its a good sales technique!! ask someone if they want a hallway or lounge cleaned for free (around 12m2) the catch is that you only clean it for free if they have at least 4 or 5 other ladies or men!! to watch the clean !! usually they all follow suit and you recieve a few jobs from it!!

Hi John

Did not know anything about Coffee Morning, She forgot that I wws coming,

RS did mention this at Fast Trak once, but that was more for the WI rather than Mums that Do nothing.

Much rather go to young Mums anyway.

Hope all is well in your new venture.

Anyone having an Ann Summers party, I'll be there with the "steempro"!

That should get things hot and steamy, if they aren't already.

I have a dirty mind, and I don't know what chemical to use to clean it!
