Hi peeps currently not on a meter but looking at moving to a house that has one.
been told a 1000 litres is £1.53, doesnt sound a lot but im sure it would add up,
using a 400 ltr but getting a 500ltr soon,
would anyone mind telling me if there on a meter what sort of bill to expect and also is there a more
efficent R/O filter for less waste when filling up. Thank you

£1.53 + drainage charge which will be a similar cost. I think put a meter on your outside tap and get a refund on your drainage fee as your not actually putting that water down the drain because its going in the tank

Ahh very good point but the house isnt on mains drainage so luckly wont have to pay that.
would soon start to sting the bank if i did.

That is ridiculous, 6 months £50.00. Sub meter fitted and none return to sewer allowance. Get it sorted Wayne

Could you explain in a bit more detail please.

Sub meter registers your water to your van, none return to sewer is the cheapest water rate but you have to apply to the water company.
I  also have a recovery system fitted called a ro-back from ionics.
As you are not returning any waste water back to the sewer you're charged at the lower rate.
So when my meter is read and I receive my bill, I then read my meter and give them my sub meter reading and the bill is then adjusted.
My readings are taken on the 21st of June and the 21st December, I do take regular readings from both meters as requested by southern water.
They will come and inspect your set up and to see if you have fitted a sealed meter and then your in business.

I am not on a water meter but looking at moving so odds on it will have a meter.

£100 a month is not a lot on water because of what you can earn. But £50 sounds a lot better.

That's including my household use. Didn't think £80 was that bad to be honest.
So you pay £50 a month Steve? Is that inc household? How much water do you use?

I was paying over £40 a month before they even put meter in.
Why is it so cheap, you would surely use more than £8 a month just for baths/washing machine etc

No that is what the business uses, the house is much much more, you must remember your house is charged at 98% return to sewer.

I Think it works out at £1.16 per cubic meter then at none return to sewer 80p.
