Vinyl removal on shop front
« on: October 01, 2013, 03:16:22 pm »
Hi guys,

Does anyone have experience in removing vinyl from modern glass shop fronts. The vinyl is on the outside only.

7.1 metres tall inside and out clean with no balcony to clean from on the inside. Just floor to ceiling glass.

Looks like it will need an access platform on the outside to be able to clean off the vinyl residue properly.

If anyone would like to come on board with me on this I'd be grateful of an experienced hand.

The job is right in the middle of town in Swindon, so not sure how to go about getting access permission for the high reach equipment.

Any advice welcome, run for the hills probably lol

U need A bit heat (hair dryer) will loosen it ..and then just pick n pull ...

For the backing ashesive I've used a product called solvall by pro chem .. It's a carpet cleaning product which I had sure there's something else that will do the same job ...but this will loosen the adhesive left on the window when you've removed the vinyl ..just apply with a cloth .. The scrape is then easy ...

Wipe the window down to rid of the residue ... Then just clean it as normal ...

This process works easy peasy on van graphic vinyl ( less the scraping !) ...

I did a test corner earlier today, when I had a look at the job. The vinyl peels away very easily. It's a black out vinyl covering the whole shop front. Rubbed my finger on the window afterwards and it looks like the adhesive is going to be fairly easy to shift.

I could use an experienced access platform operator to help out with the Job.

I also need the person to be experienced at high rise interal cleaning.

Get in touch if you feel this is something you could help me out with.

Date of clean yet to be confirmed so could work around your schedule.
