Hi all.
Does anyone use paypal to accept payment on their website.
If so is it expensive and is it easy to start.
Thanks
Pete

They do charge you commission - Bacs doesn't cost why not go for bacs and standing order if you can get them to go for it.
It is worth going for I'm pleasantly surprised with the amount that go for it although it's hard to overturn the old expectation that the window cleaner cleans when your out and then comes collecting at night!!

I try to use bacs for online payments, but one customer insisted on using paypal. It is causing me no end of grief though, as, firstly, the my paypal account is with my personal bank account, not my business, so that in itself is a headache regarding the taxman. But also, as the money doesn't actually go into my bank account, just my paypal account, it means a bit of faffing about to find out if I have been paid. Once I get round to it, I will get in touch with paypal to find out my options, but in the mean time, I am wondering about telling this customer she will have to use bacs, set up a direct debit, or get another window cleaner! :(

Is there a way to place a BACS payment option on the website?

People say BACS, but its not actually BACS.  What they actually mean is simple online banking payment.  This is where the customer logs into their account online and simply pays the money from their account to yours, usually by what's called a "faster payment".  It's free to do this and takes only seconds or minutes to reach your account.

All the customer needs in order to do this is your account number and sort code.

Would I put those on my website?  Probably not.  But you could simply put them on your "windows cleaned today" card.

You have to give as many options as possible to pay you !     Bacs is the best, but some will only pay via paypal, but the fee is better then collecting, and having to make physical contact  ;D
